What are the benefits of wireless M2M using GSM/GPRS?
- Does not limit devices to physical locations. This gives more flexibility to move them (e.g. a vending machine to more busy and strong-selling site) or support remote locations without cables running (e.g. for environmental measurings), even to places without power supply.
- With different providers the availability is given almost anywhere and even international cross-border applications can be deployed easily using concepts, like Metrilogs „Communication as a Service“-Model.
- To hook into an existing wireless network (e.g. GSM/GPRS) can be done easily and without complex integration efforts.
- There are cost savings related to the speed of application deployment, the elimination of cabling costs, and the reduction in communication costs, as e.g. GPRS is very cost effective for data transmission.
